🦞 Fat Cheeks Waikiki — Lobster Roll… but the Burger Wins
📍 Location: Kuhio Avenue, Waikiki
⏰ Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM (varies by day)
💸 Price: Lobster roll around $20

Why I stopped by
I kept hearing locals talk about Fat Cheeks — a tiny spot in Waikiki with lobster rolls and burgers.
It doesn’t feel touristy at all, which honestly made me want to try it more.

🍞 The lobster roll — good, but not mind-blowing
The bun is buttery and toasted, the mayo has a little kick, and the lobster meat is pretty generous.
First bite?
All butter. In a good way.
But to be honest:
- tasty overall
- slight fishy aftertaste
- not something I’d rush back for
Considering Hawaii prices, it felt a bit overpriced, but still worth trying once.

Prices can vary, but the lobster roll was around $20 when I visited.
Just remember that Hawaii prices change often, and tax/tip are usually added on top.
🍔 The smash burger is the real winner
This surprised me — the smash burger totally stole the show.
- crispy edges
- juicy center
- rich beef flavor
- soft, buttery bun
If I go back, I’m getting the burger only.
The smash burger totally stole the show.
It was also slightly cheaper than the lobster roll, which made it feel like a better value.
☀️ Vibe & ordering
Mainly take-out.
Scan the QR code, order at the counter, grab your food, sit outside.
Staff were chill and friendly — super easy stop while walking around Waikiki.
My quick take
Come for the lobster roll once — stay for the burger.
Perfect for a casual meal that doesn’t feel like a tourist trap.
Tips before you go
- sunlight hits nicely during the day (great photos)
- bench right outside for take-out
- go a bit early — things sell out sometimes
