Sweet, simple, and so happy.
When people talk about donuts in Hawaii,
it’s usually all about Leonard’s.
But honestly?
The real donut spot is somewhere else.
A local friend recommended Donut King Waikiki,
and that one visit was enough to officially call it one of my favorite donut places in Hawaii.

🍩 My Top 3 Donuts
🥥 Coconut Donut
Crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy inside.
The coconut flavor is rich but not overpowering, with just the right level of sweetness.
First bite in and I literally thought, “Okay, this is what a donut should taste like.”
🍫 Chocolate Sprinkle Donut
Thick, chocolatey, and topped with colorful sprinkles that just make you smile.
It’s sweet, but not heavy — surprisingly easy to finish without needing coffee.
🍯 Classic Glazed Donut
I didn’t expect much from the classic… but wow.
Soft, airy, and almost melts in your mouth.
Light sweetness that keeps you reaching for another bite 😋
💬 Honest Thoughts
I’ll just say it —
I liked this way more than Leonard’s.
Leonard’s feels more touristy to me,
a bit heavier and oilier.
Donut King, on the other hand, feels cleaner, lighter, and more balanced.
The texture really stands out, and somehow it’s still not very well-known among Korean travelers.
It honestly feels like one of those hidden local gems 💎
