✨ Richmond Hotel Obihiro Ekimae Review ( Junior Suite Worth It?)

Richmond Hotel Obihiro Ekimae
Spacious living area

If you’re planning a trip to Obihiro and looking for a hotel, this one is honestly hard to beat.

I stayed at Richmond Hotel Obihiro Ekimae, and it turned out to be one of the most satisfying hotel experiences I’ve had in Japan.

📍 Location

The location is one of the biggest advantages of this hotel.

There’s a direct airport bus to Obihiro Bus Terminal, and from there, it’s only a 2–3 minute walk.

It’s also right next to the station and bus stops, so getting around is incredibly easy.

If you’re traveling with luggage, you’ll really appreciate how convenient it is.

🛏 Room (Junior Suite – 45㎡)

I stayed in a recently renovated junior suite, and the size really stood out.

At 45㎡, it felt much more spacious than typical Japanese hotel rooms.

The room included two semi-double beds and a separate living area, which made a big difference in comfort.

There was also a sofa and table, so it was perfect for relaxing or even having a late-night meal in the room.

And honestly, the room itself was just really beautiful and cozy.

🧼 Cleanliness & Bathroom

Everything was clean and well-maintained.

The bathroom layout was very practical, with a separate toilet and shower area, plus a bathtub.

I even bought bath salts and enjoyed a relaxing soak after a long day—it was one of the best parts of the stay.

At first, I was slightly concerned since there’s no public bath, but after staying here, I didn’t miss it at all.

💸 Price & Booking Tip

I paid about $170 USD for 2 nights with breakfast included.

For a junior suite, this felt like an incredible deal.

When booking, I compared a few options and went with the best value at the time.

Prices can vary depending on your dates, so it’s worth checking in advance.

🍽 Breakfast

Breakfast was much better than expected.

You can make your own butadon (pork rice bowl), which is a local specialty in Obihiro.

There’s also a build-your-own seafood bowl, plus a small but high-quality selection of dishes.

Desserts were a highlight—especially the pudding and sweet potato options.

The variety isn’t huge, but everything tasted really good.

👍 Overall

Great location, spacious room, clean facilities, and excellent value.

If you’re visiting Obihiro, this hotel is a very reliable choice—especially if you can book the renovated junior suite.
